  • Position Summary

    The HASP Research Group is looking for an individual to manage a growing portfolio of randomised controlled trials (RCTs), predominantly in the field of education.

    Key Responsibilities

    The main focus of the role will be to ensure the high quality delivery of ongoing experimental studies. The role will entail a significant proportion of time spent coordinating with external partners, in particular with intervention delivery teams, sub-contractors, and funders.


    Outside of managing RCTs and contributing to ongoing projects, you will contribute to preparing proposals for further randomised, quasi-experimental and process evaluations across policy areas.


    While RCT-specific experience is desirable, we encourage applications from those with other forms of research project management experience. 


    Skills, Qualifications and Experience

    Essential technical Skills and Experience required for this role are:

    • Project management in a research setting
    • Using project management tools and/or software
    • Risk management
    • Developing and monitoring project timelines and budgets
    • Managing contracts and sub-contracts
    • Managing external partners, subcontractors and funders
    • Establishing and managing consistent internal processes for keeping team members informed on progress and upcoming deadlines and activities across projects
    • Managing and organising team and project meetings
    • Intermediate/ advanced MS Excel skills
    • Intermediate Word
    • Intermediate Excel
    • Intermediate PowerPoint
    • Essential personal skills and experience for this role are:
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to plan carefully and see tasks through to completion
    • Excellent workload management, ability to adapt and prioritise work.
    • Familiar with working in multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including writing clearly and succinctly for a range of audiences.

    Fluency in English is essential and proficiency in other EU languages would be useful.


    Desirable experience of Randomised Controlled trials, managing specific tasks within trials (such as study design and analysis planning; Designing and piloting data; fieldwork, coordination and project management; dataset collation and management; analysis.) Experience of educational research is also desirable.


    Finally the individual will hold a post graduate degree or equivalent
